“Dichterliebe” released on Deutsche Grammophon!
Schumann’s haunting song cycle “Dichterliebe” was newly composed by the German composer and conductor Christian Jost and recorded by the Horenstein Ensemble for Deutsche Grammophon.
It links Jost’s work with a recording of Schumann’s original and his Liederkreises op. 39, with the late mezzo-soprano Stella Doufexis.
Jost’s Dichterliebe, sung by the Danish tenor Peter Lodahl and the Horenstein Ensemble, was commissioned by the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Copenhagen Opera Festival.
It premiered in October 2017 in Berlin.
